Common Name: Pink Myst® Cherry, Sargent Cherry
Pink Myst® is narrower in form than most ornamental cherry species and cultivars, including columnar Sargent cherry. It has darker pink flowers, clean foliage and superior resistance to typical cherry diseases including bacterial canker and gumosis, even where wet springtime climates are problematic for flowering cherries. Its bright pink flowers, darker in color than other Sargent cherry blooms, smother the branches of this unique cultivar that is also narrower and more upright and oval in form than is typical of the species. The cultural requirements for this adaptable, urban-tolerant tree are the same as for the species. Its narrow slender form makes it a good fit for city street plantings and home gardens where space is limited. Rich, dark green foliage stays fresh and clean through the summer months and turns to lovely shades of orange and red in autumn.
