Common Name: Pacific Brilliance™ Pin Oak
Introduced by UpShoot LLC, a natural cross discovered by Joseph C. Kelly and Peter J. Brentano, Brentano's Tree Farm LLC, Ore. Zone 4. Unlike the species, Pacific Brilliance has upright branching that makes it more appealing for streets and tighter spaces. New growth is pubescent and leaves mature to a glossy green with silvery undersides. Fall color is a mixture of oranges and reds. Its upright pyramidal habit reaches 45-50 feet tall with a 20-25 foot spread. Needs full sun. Prefers moise, rich, acidic, well-drained soil.
