Common Name: The King Ostrich Fern
Very popular variety of Ostrich Fern with plume-like fronds that will look you in the eye at nearly six feet in height. Long creeping stolons ramble just beneath the soil’s surface, randomly producing new plants year after year. Fist-sized fiddleheads emerge green in spring and are a gourmet restaurant treat. The sterile fronds turn a bright golden yellow in fall while the fertile fronds become bronze and stay upright through the winter. (Iseli Nursery)
