Introduced by the North Dakota State Research Foundation, this exceptionally cold-hardy Katsura has demonstrated remarkable resilience, surviving unscathed in USDA Zone 3 temperatures as low as -37°F. Its foliage emerges in a rich bronze tone, matures to a blue-green through the growing season, and finishes with an attractive apricot-yellow display in early fall. An early onset of dormancy further enhances its ability to withstand harsh winter conditions.
