First Flame^® Korean Maple

Common Name: First Flame® Korean Maple

This is the flagship cultivar of the Pacific Rim® line of maples. The first leaves of spring unfurl in a burst of flame. The intensely hot bright tangerine red cools gradually to shades of reds and oranges to a mature mid-summer leaf color of light green. Starting in youth as a narrow upright tree, it ages to a rounded crown. It’s a vigorous selection that grows throughout summer. The new leaves are continually emerging red-orange during summer and act as a small reminder of the First Flame® color drama that will occur each and every spring.
