Common Name: Cascade Sunburst Huckleberry
Distinctive, variegated foliage sets this versatile evergreen apart from other Huckleberries. Finely serrated leaves are vivid coral when they emerge, gradually turning green with creamy variegations. Racemes of pale pink, urn-shaped flowers bloom in spring, followed by glossy purple -black, edible berries in the summer - providing multiples seasons of interest. Performs well in both shade and sun, tolerates most soil types but prefers acidic soil that is moist and well drained. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies - deer resistant also!
This plant received a People's Choice Award of Merit in the New Varieties Showcase at the 2021 Farwest Show.
