Common Name: Golden Variegated Dwarf Sweet Flag
Great Plant Picks - The striking chartreuse striped grass-like foliage of sweetflag makes it easy to use in the garden. It is versatile and can be used as an accent in the mixed border, as a container plant, or at the water’s edge. The soft evergreen foliage gracefully arches to make low layered attractive mounds.
This adaptable and easy to grow groundcover succeeds well in open shade to full sun, although the golden leaf color is more intense with more light. ‘Ogon’ will grow in a wide variety of soil conditions from wet clay to rich well-drained garden soil. It prefers regular watering during dry weather and grows lush when grown in a moist location. Prune the evergreen foliage to the ground in late winter to tidy the plant if necessary.
