Common Name: Sazanami Japanese Maple
MATSUMURAE, green. An unusual quality of this cultivar is the sharply pointed leaves with saw toothed edges. The leaf lobes are separated over half the distance to the center. In spring, the foliage color is light orange-red with contrasting green veins. Later in summer, the leaves become rich green and turn to gold in autumn. The tree is rather slow growing, forming a compact, bushy shape. A very special tree, not often seen.
