Common Name: Koto no ito Japanese Maple
LINEARILOBUM, green. New leaves five lobed unfold with crimson tones but soon turn green. The size of the foliage varies; if it is on old wood it is very fine and feathery, on new wood the leaf segments are broader and longer. The leaves just dance in the breeze. It is an upright growing tree with bright green bark. Fall colors range through various shades of yellow and when grown in full sun the color is a wonderful glowing peachy red.
