| Attractive as a landscape tree for its bright golden summer flowers that stand erect above the distinctive foliage. Flowers mature into clustered, papery "Chinese lantern" seed capsules, which droop from the branches mid-summer through autumn. Like its close relative Xanthoceras, Goldenraintree seems to do best if it is somewhat neglected. It performs well in alkaline or dry soil, and it tolerates heat well. (Heritage Seedlings) |
