This great plant has a looser habit and less dissected foliage than the other bleeding hearts. In spring, the heart-shaped, 1" pink flowers with white inner petals are lined on one side of a nodding panicle. This one tolerates sun in cooler climates and will die back after blooming.

An old fashioned garden favorite for years. A long-lived perennial for the border. Wonderful combined with ferns. Best in partial shade. Heart-shaped blooms from May - June. May go dormant in midsummer if located in full sun.
