This small, deciduous shrub is a hummingbird magnet in late spring and early summer when covered with clusters of ruby-red flowers that stand out against the purple-tinged, green leaves. A dwarf form of an old-fashioned garden stalwart, at only 3' tall and wide, 'Minuet' fits easily into any garden in full sun to part shade with regular summer water. Frost hardy to -20 °F, USDA zone 5.

This hardy dwarf variety (2-3') developed in Canada has green-tinged-purple leaves ; produces a profusion of slightly fragrant flowers, a "minuet" in color: corolla ruby red, petal lobes lilac-purple, throat yellow. Sun/Med
