Trientalis latifolia is a very small ground cover that prefers shade to full shade. It grows underneath the Douglas fir tree's canopy. It is a perennial from a very small bulb. The leaves are star-like but the name 'Starflower' comes from the flower that is star-like. It flowers in mid spring. The Starflower can be pink or white.
