An award winner on both coasts and the only Yak to receive the American Rhododendron Society's Award of Excellence. Large trusses comprising an average of 15 deep pink flowers open in midseason and slowly fade to white. The new growth is an attractive silver, the mature foliage dark green and heavily indumented. Compact, mounding habit. GPP award.

This named selection is from the Seattle area. 'Ken Janeck' is an excellent representation of the larger size 'yaks' with larger leaves and plant size than most. The deepest pink of the 'yaks', it won the coveted Award of Excellence.
