A straight trunked and well branched tree, this pine will grow to 50-60' in 50 years. It has beautiful plated bark; glossy, dark green, very long needles and 3-5" light red-brown cones. An attractive and hardy tree.

Once common in parts of the valley, this large needle pine can tolerate winter wet and summer dry with no problem. Large tree to 80 feet.

A bushy, attractive, very tall tree with long, dark-green needles in 3's ; handsome, plated, cinnamon bark, this species, is said "to give forth the finest music to the wind" (Muir)... listen and see! Sun/Med-Dry
