Preferring cold winters, this magnificent tree has a narrow, columnar habit capable of reaching 100'. Bark is orange-brown to purple-brown, cracking and flaking in fine plates. This might be considered one of the best spruce for use in eastern U.S. gardens.

Lg, beautiful, almost columnar tree with pendulous branchlets ; somewhat flattened needles that are glossy green above, white below. Sun/Med
