Red new foliage all summer on a well branched plant. Attractive mature foliage is glossy, dark green that turn a fluorescent yellow to orange to scarlet red to purple in fall. Wonderfully spectacular! The bark has almost alligator-like patterns and is dark gray to almost black. Prefers moist soil.

The young foliage of this almost-native tree (to 30'x 20') emerges bright burgundy "wildfire" red, a color which lasts well into the summer to be followed by yel-orng-scarlt-red fall color; spectacular! S/M
