A candelabra of sizzling yellow flowers in winter is a very welcome sight on this handsome mahonia, a tall and vigorous evergreen plant that is quite architectural, flashy and easy to grow too. Fairly columnar and multi-stemmed, these are best planted away from paths where their prickly foliage may be experienced too closely. Full to part sun with some summer water, though somewhat drought tolerant when established. Frost hardy to 0F, USDA zone 7.

Hybrids of M. lomariifolia and M. japonica. An upright grower with thick shoots bearing dark green holly-like leaves. Fragrant yellow flowers are borne on 8" racemes from late autumn to late winter. Grows 15' tall and can form a clump to 12' wide.

A superb med-large shrub of upright stately habit (Hillier) and deep-yellow flowers in large upright clusters during autumn ; e. winter--great with Callicarpa, Camellia sasanqua; (M.japonica x M.lomarifolia). PSh/Med

Tall, vigorous and flashy. The big sister of the 'Faith', 'Hope' & 'Charity' trio. Can reach 12 ft with sizzling yellow candelabras mid-winter. Handsome evergreen specimen. Full to part sun.

Evergreen multi-stemmed clumping shrub to 8 feet tall with fragrant yellow flowers in mid winter. Blue gray fruit clusters are quite ornamental.
