A Kosar hybrid of M. kobus var. stellata 'Rosea' x M. liliiflora 'Nigra'. A rounded magnolia, more a shrub than tree, with ovate, deep green leaves that are 6" long. Midspring brings large, cup shaped flowers 8" across that are purple-red on the outside and white inside. Grows to 12'.

One of the first Magnolias to flower, this erect 10-15' shrub produces its rosy-purple 4"fls in early spring. Sun/Med
