Perhaps the hardiest of the southern magnolias, and a heavy bloomer, producing an abundance of large, fragrant, pure white flowers in summer and fall. Prune the side branches back on young plants to develop strength for snow loads on this very broad-leaved evergreen. Open, pyramidal habit.

M.grandiflora is such a strikingly beautiful ; romantic pl that it has become a symbol of the Amer.South (Callaway). With this hardy form, its frag.whi flowers ; pretty leaves can be enjoyed in the north also! to -13F. S/M
