An beloved old garden plant and a standout, with erect fans, to 18-30" tall, variegated in stripes of creamy white on green. Native to Croatia in Dalmatia Province, hence the common name. Lavender-blue flowers with yellow beards arrive in late spring to early summer with a sweet aroma. Sun on the coast -- otherwise light shade -- and excellent drainage with regular summer moisture. Evergreen to 15F, mid USDA zone 8 and perennial to at least 0F, zone 7.

Sophisticated foliage for the early season and fragrant grape scented flowers too! A timeless beauty with those lovely leaves.
