A profusion of bright red berries brighten the winter landscape and provide food for birds. 'Afterglow' is a female and needs a pollenizer such as Jim Dandy to produce the red berries. Foliage is rich green and glossier than most Ilex. Extremely hardy and tolerant of most well drained soil types with regular watering. Partial to full sun.
