A blue, creeping dwarf Himalayan cedar cultivar known for its serpentine-like shape. If left on its own, it spreads and is an effective groundcover. If grown as a groundcover, any vertically growing shoots should be removed. It is often grown staked, which can result in interesting forms due to its weeping nature. When staked, ‘Blue Snake’ can grow to 6-8 feet in 10 years. It was discovered in Holland in 1962 as a sport. In general, dwarf Deodar cedar cultivars do best in cool maritime areas where the soil is naturally acidic. No reported pests.
