Plant Details

Acer ‘Celebration®’ was developed at Lake County Nursery in Ohio. As with the other A. freemanii hybrids, it was chosen as an improvement over Red Maple cultivars. While it shows a lot of vigor, it does not have the intensely red color of Red Maple cultivars. Still, it is an excellent tree. The upright branches have a wide crotch angle, so breakage is not a problem. ‘Celebration®’ keeps its very symmetrical form and compact structure with age. High pH or too wet sites should be avoided. Also avoid low marshy ground were Verticillium may be present.
