Well-named ('Johin' means elegant), this small tree (to 6' in 10 yrs) has the "full moon" foliage of its A.shirasawanum parent but the red-purple with green veins from its A.palmatum parent; a wonderful hybrid! Sun-PSh/Med

Johin has deeply indented leaves which come out purple in the spring. Color is best (my opinion) in fall when the leaves turn bright orange/red/purple.
