Report a problem
Normally I feel really guilty if I don't have some sort of picture to show, but in this case I don't, because if you have seen Sango Kaku or Beni Kawa (and who hasn't) then you can imagine this tree. Winter Flame is just a little shorter and a little bushier. And more resistant to pseudomonas? Those claims are out there. In my open windy location, pseudomonas is not a problem so I can't test it.

A compact, bushy form of 'Sango kaku'!, this fine New Zealand variety has the same soft-green spring leaves on red shoots, light crimson fall color AND coral-red winter twigs; to only 9', it's ideal for small yards ; pots. S-PSh

MATSUMURAE, green. Another spectacular dwarf form of the beloved 'Sango kaku'. This one tends to be a little more red, similar to the 'Beni kawa'.
