AMOENUM, green. This cultivar has the largest leaves of all the palmatums, the better to show its famous display of fall color! The intense crimson colors of 'Osakazuki' in fall are enough to render speechless even the most verbose of us at Greer Gardens. If this tree displayed this show only one day a year, it would be well worth a garden spot. You could, however, be treated to the glorious colors over a long time, depending on the weather. A most outstanding tree with dark green summer foliage. Mature growth develops a wonderfully broad canopy on strong branches. Demand always exceeds supply.

This has been one of the most sought after Japanese Maples for over a century. It is known mostly for its shining crimson fall color, but it is generally a fine tree all year. The clean green leaves are broad and larger than most but never coarse looking. The tree develops reasonably quickly into a round-headed small tree to about 15'. zone 5

This famous cultivar is known for perhaps the most intense crimson fall color of any maple which "seems to glow even at dusk" (Vertrees). It has very large 7-lobed leaves ; is a hardy ; sturdy grower to 20'. Sun-PSh/Med
