Like Kurui jishi, Okushimo has curled-in leaves, but the tree is much narrower and taller (which is not saying much in terms of height (10')), and the leaves are a light fresh green in the summer. Fall color is variable, gold to red.

This very desirable cultivar has 3 outstanding features (Vertrees) its upright, vase-shaped habit (20-40'), its unusual leaves with the margins of each lobe rolling to form a tube, ; its intense yellow-gold fall color. PSh/Med
