MATSUMURE, red. Famous for its rich, gold autumn leaf color with crimson highlights. 'Kinran' shows bright green mid veins against shiny red-purple leaves in spring. Deeply cut leaf shape gives a lacy appearance. A broad growing tree with a spreading habit, it adapts well to container or bonsai use. It achieves new glory in the fall with a deep bronze at tip ends fading to a shining golden yellow--a very intriguing selection!

Kinran is a short wide tree (8' in ten years) well suited for pot culture as it takes well to shaping. The leaves are bronzy in spirng with prominent veining, deeply divided and lacy looking. The veining persists throughout the color changes of summer and fall culminating in striking gold on red.
