MATSUMURE, variegated. This is a dark-leafed variegated maple which will make an interesting addition to your garden. Large leaves with 7-9 lobes and good texture emerge red, even slightly orange in the spring. As they mature, they become a deep purplish-brown with tiny, irregular green spots. Branching is strong and sturdy. Fall color is orange-red to orange-yellow. A unique variety!

Iijima sunago is a large leaf upright with garnet red spring color. This color fades to a purple brown in summer. Its orange-red fall color is it's best feature. Iijima sunago’s reported sand dust fleck variegation is seldom seen. It makes for a stocky plant wider than tall, to approximately 12’.

Iijima Sunago's attraction is subtle. It's leaves are large and regularly palmate, deep purple in the spring, changing to greenish brown in full summerwhen it becomes oddly speckled with green spots; at this time it also displays it's prominent midribs in contrasting yellow; the winter color of the wood is golden. zone 6

A witch's broom of 'Bloodgood', this upright 3-6'dwarf has lobed leaves that open bright-red before turning a deep purple-red which they hold all summer; exciting in container, rockery, as bonsai or accent. S-P/M
