DWARF, green. This fine plant from a witch's broom found in The Land Down Under has pleasing, bright green leaves that begin in spring with a golden cast and end in fall a deep pink-red. It grows into and rounded bush with dense, twiggy branches. This has to be the perfect choice for container culture, a rock garden, or bonsai. As is the case with most witch's brooms, it's difficult to propagate.

Coonara Pygmy is a green witches’ broom dwarf maple. Its spring growth is orange in color; its fall color is orange to red. It forms a round ball that is more upright than the similar Tama hime or Kiyohime yatsubusa.

This is a round shrubby dwarf with green leaves often touched with other colors; although it is a dwarf, it is pretty vigorous, generally a winner from my point of view. Zone 6.
