DWARF, red. This unusual dwarf tree makes an ideal specimen tree or container tree. Dark, rusty-rose leaves burst forth in the spring and then, with the heat of summer, the leaves turn to a bluish green. The second growth in early summer repeats the rusty-rose color, then turning to a beautiful tan and ultimately to green. The combination of rose, tan and green is uniquely beautiful. Fall color is burnt-crimson.

Brandts Dwarf is a bush Japanese maple that fills the function of Shaina, but is a much better grower. It has red fall foliage. At maturity, it is around 5’ by 5’. Brandts Dwarf is an underused gem in the landscape.

Although Brandt's Dwarf is vigorous as a youngster, it is a true dwarf and will top out at 3' x 3'. The spring and fall color is bright red with greenish in the middle. It is happy in full sun. Good container or rock garden plant.
