Yama kagi is a Don Schmidt Nursery, Inc. selection of Acer japonicum. This japonicum has large grape-like leaves, which unlike other japonicums, are less likely to burn or turn leathery in the heat of summer. The fall color is an outstanding yellow, orange and red. It is an upright grower that is as wide as it is tall to 20’ (Mountain shadows)
