A smaller and more refined relative of Box Elder Maple, this native of China is a handsome garden tree. Upright branch habit and narrow form of our selection make it a fine choice for street tree and urban use. A strik- ing, two-tone effect occurs as claret red new growth flushes above mature, dark green trifoliate leaves. Rich purple fall color deepens to red-orange.
