This is a large-growing fir with long, thick, almost round needles. 'Candicans' is a selection known for it's striking vivid blue-gray needles. Its blue color is exceptional in both summer and winter. Its long needles give it a distinctive, airy appearance reminiscent of some pines. The tree grows in a cone shape, at a rate of 6-12" a year. In many ways it looks like a longer-needled blue spruce, except the needles have round ends and are soft to the touch. Considered one of the best firs for city planting. Exceptionally handsome, CHOICE AND RARE!

Vivid silvery-gray needles make this cultivar of one of our lovely western firs striking; first raised in Europe where our natives have, in the past, been more appreciated than at home. Sun-PSh/Med
