We are a custom grafting partner specializing in the narrow, compact, and production worthy conifers and Japanese maples.  Our collection of contemporary cultivars fit the urban landscapes that require trees with profiles of height not width - Picea glauca 'Pendula', Abies concolor 'Fastigiata', Pinus koraiensis 'Silveray' and Pinus nigra 'Green Tower' -( the newer "non-breakable" option for Pinus nigra 'Arnold's Sentinel') to name a few.  Our compact and dwarf varieties offer unique cones, bright winter color, and interesting textures and forms.  While we have many Zone 2-4 choices for intolerant climates, we also produce the Zone 5 choices such as Pinus parviflora 'Negishi' and Pinus thunbergi 'Thunderhead' and Cedrus deodara 'Electra Blue'.

In the future, look for liners on the dwarf ginkgos - 'Mariken', 'Jade Butterflies', 'Chi Chi', 'Troll', and 'Spring Grove'.

We summer graft Japanese maples for delivery the following May.  Ordering one year in advance for all is encouraged.  

J Farms uses healthy weed free understock to provide a vigorous start for the liner graft.  We graft all our Chamaecyparis lawasoniana cultivars on Disease Resistant lawsoniana developed by Oregon State University to prevent root rot.
